Wold Newton (East Riding) Patrol
The possible targets for the Patrol include the expected landing grounds to the east around the Filey area along with Flamborough Head Lighthouse and the two defended bays, again probable landing beaches for the German forces.
Other targets were the Scarborough to York and Hull railways, roads from the east coast and RAF Cottam.
Some of the Patrol went to Coleshill House for specialist courses.
The Patrol trained locally on various farms in the area. Group training was carried out at Middleton on the Wolds, the Auxiliary Units HQ for the area and at Richmond and Castle Howard with the Green Howards (Castle Howard was a large Home Guard training centre).
Weapons issued to the Patrol included; Sniper rifle, Pistols and Fighting Knives.
