Sunk Island Patrol
The Patrol's targets were land drainage system, along with the possible invasion beaches on the Humber and the coast to the east and roads from the east coast.
Military targets included Stone Creek Anti Aircraft Battery, Channel Farm Search Light battery and Spurn Head coastal battery.
The Patrol trained locally on the coast and at Old Hall Farm and they also went to Middleton on the Wolds, the Headquarters of the Intelligence Officer for training. Some exercises with the Green Howards at Castleton were also organised.
It is thought Sergeant Wigham went to Coleshill for specialist training courses.
Weapons issued included; .22 sniper rifle with sights, Remington or Winchester rifles along with Colt .45 or Smith & Wesson pistols.
Some captured Lugars were issued and were sort after as they used the same 9mm ammunition as the Sten Machine Gun.
