Lochboisdale - South Uist (Uibhist A Deas) Patrol
The main supply route for fuel coming into feed RAF Benbecula was at Lochboisdale. The South Ford Bridge having been constructed to connect the RAF base with the steamer port at Lochboisdale was also an important target.
The members of this Patrol lived near to Lochboisdale and therefore well placed to be effective in harassing any troop / supply movements from the vital port and road route to the airfield.
Visiting Scout sections from Seaforths and Lovat Scouts conducted a ‘round robin’ type of training package for Patrols on the Outer Hebrides.
Lochboisdale Patrol won the best Patrol in Group 5 in a competition of all Area 1 in 1944.
