Hendy Patrol
An obvious target would have been the road and rail bridges over the river at nearby Pontardulais.
Captain Tommy George from Letterston, Pembrokeshire recalled hearing about a training exercise carried out by what appears to have been Hendy Patrol; "They decided one night to make an attack on a simulated German Patrol and they chose the last bus back home from town. All of them had the explosives and adhesives to fell a tree. Along came the bus. Down came a tree just in front of it. The bus reversed. Down came another tree about 100 yards behind. As far as I know the bus stayed put all night and the passengers had to walk home".
