The Patrol were based roughly half way between Bridlington and Filey on the east coast of Yorkshire in the East Riding.
The Patrol OB was built inside and underneath the old windmill, at North Burton. It was situated approximately half a mile Northwest of Burton Fleming on the west side of Forden Road. Entrance was from inside the mill. It had an escape tunnel hidden under piles of rubble leading out of the mill. It was divided into 2 sections. An Observational Post was within an old well nearby.
The old mill is now destroyed.
Burton Fleming Patrol
The targets would have included the probable landing beaches between Filey and Scarbororgh. Cayton Bay was a heavily defended area along with the Scarborough to Hull and York railways and main roads from the coast.
Military targets would have included RAF Cottam and various large country houses in the area which were all possible German HQ's.
Some of the Patrol went to Coleshill House for specialist courses
The Patrol trained locally in their area at Campwell Dale and trained with others at Middleton on the Wolds Headquarters and at Richmond and Castle Howard with the Green Howards (Castle Howard was a large Home Guard training centre).
