The OB was built into the north bank of the Thirtley and Wyton Drain, 150 yards from Langdale Lane, Ganstead. All that remains are depressions.
Bilton Patrol
Possible targets would have included the road to the north which is the main coast road from Hull to all eastern coast towns.
This Patrols training was done at Burton Constable Hall under the watchful eyes of Mr Robert Thirsk, the Estate Gamekeeper and a WW1 Veteran.
Weapons remembered are; Canadian Ross .30 rifle, Revolvers, Commando Knives, Sten Guns and a .22 Sniper Rifle.
