An account of the events that occurred in the Yonne Department of Bourgogne at le Paumier and les Maisons on July 20th 1944 and at Ecluse de la Place on July 21st 1944 which lead to the death of Captain Roy Bradford and Craftsman William Devine.

Photos show the temporary plaque that has been in place since the civic ceremony that was held at Ecluse de la Place on Sunday July 21st, 2024, the 80th anniversary of the rescue of Roy's comrades, Sergeant Cornelius McGinn, Sergeant Frederick White and Jacques Morvillier. A permanent memorial is planed for the future. The other photo is of the Vistel family taken on the day of the ceremony and the first time the anniversary of the rescue being acknowledged.
