Date of death
Auxiliary Units role
Intelligence Officer
Details
Victor Goss was one of the five officers seconded to provide training to Aux Units in August 1940. While the others seem to have quickly returned to regimental duties, Victor Goss took over from Captain The Lord Ashley on 21 Jun 1941. Possibly he had remained with Auxiliary Units as a Scout Section Officer since from late 1940, which would explain his selection as Intelligence Officer.
He returned to the Grenadier Guards and fought in North Africa, being killed in in fighting there.
