Details
James Robinson was killed during WW2 while demonstrating explosives in a small quarry a charge failed to detonate on 22 June 1943. Another was placed to carry on when the first went off causing a rock fall. This crushed James Robinson leaving him with a dislocated right hip, two fractured ribs, and a fracture through the left shoulder. He died of a pulmonary embolism caused by his injuries on 07 July 1943 in Alnwick Hospital.
